Remembering James William Croushorn Sr.

Born on March 24, 1945, in Aden, Virginia, James was the beloved son of the late Charles Walter Croushorn and Florence Mae Baker Croushorn. A member of the first graduating class of the new Brentsville High School in Nokesville, Virginia, James, or “Jim” as many knew him, was a man of ambition and dedication.

James was a devout member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church and the original owner of Jim’s Transmissions in Manassas, Virginia, a business he built with hard work and integrity. Later in life, he relocated to Pamplin, Virginia, where he followed his passion for farming and established a successful organic farm.

James’s love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by:

  • Wife: Linda Louise Yancey Croushorn, with whom he shared many happy years of marriage.
  • Children:
    • James William Croushorn Jr. and wife, Sharon M., of Culpeper, VA.
    • Steven Michael Croushorn and wife, Mauda, of Warrenton, VA.
    • Jennifer Louise Withrow and husband, Scott Anthony, of King George, VA.
  • Grandchildren: Sara Withrow, Will Croushorn, Ben Croushorn, Kenneth Withrow, Luke Croushorn, Hannah Beebe, Katherine Croushorn, and Karen Croushorn.
  • Great-grandchildren: Hayley Withrow, Alexander Dabo, and Reecy Mae Croushorn.
  • Siblings: Betty Mayhugh, Edward “Buddy” Croushorn, Charlotte “Tootie” Jones, and Charlie Croushorn.
  • Numerous nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember his warmth and generosity.

James was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Allen Croushorn, whom he dearly loved.
