John Morgan Harris Jr. Obituary:  a beloved family man and dedicated truck driver, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the age of 75.

Remembering John Morgan Harris Jr.

John was born on August 2, 1949, in Farmville, Virginia, to the late John Morgan Harris Sr. and Margie Dunning Harris. He spent much of his life behind the wheel, working as a professional truck driver.

Throughout his career, he drove for numerous trucking companies and even worked independently. Known for his reliability and dedication, John left a lasting impression on his colleagues and friends within the trucking industry.

John is survived by his three children: Portland Harris, John Morgan Harris III, and Amber Harris. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Matthew, LeAnne, Travis, Katie, and Kali, as well as his brother, Roger Harris. Among his closest friends were Nancy Harris and Stephen and Tamara Toney, who shared a special bond with him.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his two sisters, Renita and Varalyn, and his brother, Bobby Harris.

As per John’s wishes, no formal services will be held. His family and friends will honor his memory privately, reflecting on the love and dedication he shared with those close to him.
